The ISD Council recently held a Focus Group Discussion about “Creating a Safe Digital Space for Children”, which aims to enable common understanding on the Safe Digital Space for Children as well as the framework and parameters applied, and provide constructive input on the newly issued Government Regulation on Child Protection Governance in the Implementation of Electronic Systems (“PP Tunas”). Opened by Devi Ariyani (Executive Director of the ISD Council), and remarks by Alexander Sabar (Director General of Digital Space Supervision, Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs ), the discussion featured international speaker, Professor Marilyn Campbell from Queensland University of Technology who is expert in education and psychology for children. Other active participants involved in the discussion and shared their valuable insights consisting various related stakeholders from industry, civil organizations, academics, and government institutions. All participants in attendance shared the same concern on creating safe digital space for children and continue support the well being of children. Considering the big issue and coverage, the approach must be multi-layered that involving multi-stakeholders. The discussion was concluded by remarks by Eko Dono Indarto (Deputy for Coordination of Communication, Information, and Apparatus, Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs ) who emphasized the importance of collaboration and coordination in tackling this complex issues.
