PUBLIC-PRIVATE DIALOGUE ON SERVICES:
Driving Services for an Inclusive and Resilient Economy
In 2015, APEC Leaders committed to developing a strategic and long-term APEC Services Competitiveness Roadmap (ASCR) in 2016 with the adoption of a region-wide set of actions and mutually agreed targets to be achieved by 2025. This year marks the midterm review of the ten-year roadmap that set concrete targets – (1) to reduce the restrictions to services trade and investment, (2) to increase the share of services exports, (3) to increase the growth in trade in services, and (4) to increase APEC’s share in global services trade.
With COVID-19 coming into the picture, how is APEC faring towards achieving its targets? What’s in it for APEC member economies to hit or miss its goals? What policy adjustments and best practices are necessary to further facilitate trade and improve services competitiveness?
Learn these and more in the virtual Public-Private Dialogue on Services. Join us in a two-day discussion with experts from and beyond the region and our APEC officials and business leaders on how the services sector can help build a resilient and inclusive economy in the midst of the pandemic.
The PPD on Services is organized by Asia Pacific Services Coalition (APSC) and APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), in partnership with the Trade & Investment in Services Associates (TIISA) and the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and presented to you by APEC Business Advisory Council Philippines and Globe Telecom.
